Softub Drain Cap / Suction Cover (4") For 2009 And Older Softubs (Discontinued But Replaceable With A Kit)
This older 4″ Drain Cap / Suction Cover has been discontinued by Softub, following the Federal VGB Act in 2009. If your tub is missing a cap, measure the other one – it’s probably the same size (all Softubs have two drains, two caps). If you’ve broken off your old 4″ cap, you have probably really broken the plastic armature that holds it in place – you’ll see a piece of plastic in the back of your cap, held on by a single screw. The threaded portion of the armature is also probably still screwed into your wall fitting.
The good news is that Softub has created a Drain Cap / Suction Cover Retrofit Replacement Kit, which will convert your old drain cap assembly into the newer, slightly larger 5 1/2″ drain cap assembly compatible with Softub’s current larger filter (the 5020).
Converting is easy. Just unscrew the old plastic armature (or a piece of it) from your drain’s threaded fitting. Screw back in the new threaded armature which will hold the new drain wall fitting in place. Then attach the new drain cover with two provided screws.
Once you convert the drain to the new system, you will need to use the 5020 filter with it. There is even a kit available with the 5020 filter included.
